Watch Kelly Rowland Perform "Street Life" with Pusha T on Good Morning America

Child of Destiny and one of contemporary R&B’s current captains,Kelly Rowland performed “Street Life” during her Tuesday appearance on Good Morning America. I know, I know: I want to see a real performance of “Kisses Down Low,” too, dammit. Unfortunately, I don’t think you can really sing about oral sex that early in the morning.

Nevertheless, Kelly did a great job — she sounded good, she looked amazing (though we’re used to that now) and even brought out Pusha T. Yes, Pusha T being on GMA and Kelly singing about her baby daddy and the hood in front of happy white people surely made my morning. Awesome job, girl, although I need to know whether you’re going to perform your Mike Will Made It hit on the upcoming BET Awards. All you gotta do is say yes, doll.
Meanwhile, before her set, Kelly discussed “Dirty Laundry” — particularly that line your cousins misconstrued about Beyoncé. Kelly wasn’t saying she was jealous of Destiny’s Favorite Child, only that she was so frustrated about her own life it was hard to see Bey do so well. The song is one of the most forthright about domestic violence in quite some time, and yet, folks wanted to focus on the purported jealously between Destiny’s Child’s founding and lasting members. Blah.
